FFA Chapter

The National FFA Organization, or FFA, is a nonprofit organization that helps students develop leadership and career skills through agricultural education. The name stands for Future Farmers of America, but the organization's mission has expanded to include students interested in a variety of careers related to agriculture.

ALL LIFE SCIENCE STUDENTS WELCOME

Activities

FFA Meetings 
Open to all students in Life Science shops (Biotech, Envs, Horticulture, and Vet Science) and all Freshmen. FFA Meetings are held on Mondays each month from 2:30-3:30 in the Horticulture shop. Check the FFA bulletin board in the hall between Horticulture and Environmental Science for the next meeting date.

The Big “E” 
FFA members travel to Springfield, Massachusetts during the Eastern States Exposition to participate in FFA Day Competitions.  Members are also able to enjoy the sites of the fair.

National FFA Convention 
FFA Members will attend the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana to compete and support their teammates in Career Development Events as well as participate in leadership workshops.

Winter Leadership Camp 
Open to all FFA members, WLC is run by the State FFA Officer team and is an overnight camp where attendees learn about a variety of leadership skills.

COLT (Chapter Officer Leadership Training)
Open to Chapter Officers, COLT training takes place in conjunction with other FFA chapters in our area. This training is typically hosted by Minuteman. 

State FFA Convention 
A three-day event, FFA Members who attend the State FFA Convention participate in Career Developments Events and leadership workshops. In addition, they attend the statewide awards banquet where members are recognized for their state CDE involvement.

Members attend other events throughout the school year as well as host community service projects and fundraisers that promote agriculture within our community.
