Child Care Home

Colonial Children's Academy (CCA) is a preschool/childcare center for children between 2.9 and 5 years of age. It is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM through 4:00 PM. CCA follows the Minuteman High School school-year calendar.

CCA is located inside Minuteman High School, at 758 Marrett Road, Lexington, MA.
It is staffed by full-time certified teachers, professional staff, and students majoring in Early Education and Teaching.

• Curriculum: Colonial Children’s Academy’s curriculum features STEM activities, outdoor and indoor recreation, music, literacy and cooperative play all within the children’s daily schedule. The emergent curriculum will be developed from the children’s imagination, interests and skill levels.
• Facility: The new Minuteman High School building, which opened in 2019, is a state-of-the-art facility featuring an outdoor playground, indoor play equipment and preschool facilities to accommodate young children. The school setting additionally allows preschool students to explore many of the school facilities, such as the large indoor gym.
• Ratios: Student-to-teacher ratios far exceed the state standards, allowing adults to provide additional guidance and support throughout the day.
• Highly Certified Staff: The Early Education and Teaching staff are highly qualified certified teachers in both Preschool and Early Education and Care (grades 9-12). In addition to working with the high school students, they are veterans in a preschool setting. Throughout the day they offer guidance, supervision and activities to the preschool students while serving as role models for the high school interns.
