Lexington Tennis Shade Pavilion complete

TennisThe Lexington Tennis Shade Pavilion at Center Courts was recently completed and is ready for use. The project was initiated in May 2011 and approved by the Recreation Department and the Recreation Commission.

The pavilion offers a place to watch tennis matches or wait for courts out of the direct sun. It also provides a refuge during sudden rainstorms.

The project was developed by Bob O'Neill, Lexington High School girls' tennis coach from 2003-11, and designed by Molly (O'Neill) Robinson (LHS '94). Minuteman Regional High School students built the pavilion during the spring of 2012.

A total of 35 private donors, including Lexington residents and businesses, contributed more than $11,000 to fund the project. Lead gifts were provided by the Arthur Hurley Family in memory of Drew Hurley (LHS '79,) Judy Cole in memory of Jack Cole, C&W Transportation/Arlex Oil, Seasons Four and Wales Copy Center.
