Welcome Message from School Building Committee Chair

                                                                 Approach Rendering 1.4.17
                                                                                                                                       Approach Rendering, KBA 2017

Welcome to the Minuteman School Building Committee website!

All the information related to the Minuteman School Building Project accumulated over a number of years is found on this site.  The site is organized under Project Process Modules.  You can follow our progress as we move through the MSBA Modules, a process we must follow if we are to receive the $44.1 million reimbursement from the MSBA.

District Approval to Fund the Building Project
Based on the September 20, 2016 Minuteman District Wide approval of the project by a 70% margin, the Minuteman District and the MSBA have moved the project on to  Module 6

Module 6
Module 6 is the Detailed Design (Design, Construction Documents, Bidding) phase of the project.   We anticipate moving into Module 7 (Construction) in the  Spring of 2017.

Skanska, USA & Kaestle Boos Associates, Inc.
Skanska USA, our Owners Project Manager, and Kaestle Boos Associates, Inc, our architectural firm, have been with us since 2014.  We are grateful for their professional services.

Gilbane Building Company
Gilbane Building Company has been hired to join our team as the General Building Contractor.  We are pleased to have them with us. They recently completed two school projects:  Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical High School and Winthrop Middle/High School, and the same Gilbane team that worked on these projects will be on our project.  We hired them under the Construction Manager at Risk contract.

I hope your review of the School Building Committee website will be helpful.  I recommend reading the MSBA Module Guidelines to bettter understand the process that must be followed in order to receive the MSBA reimbursement.  Thank you for your interest and consideration of this important project for our future students and our communities. If you have questions, feel free to contact me by email.

Sincerely,

Ford Spalding, Chair
