Digital Literacy and Citizenship

Digital Literacy and Citizenship

This new course was added in the 2015-2016 school year for all ninth graders!

This semester-long course is based on the Commonsense Media Digital Literacy and Citizenship Curriculum. Topics include, but are not limited to, internet safety, privacy and security, online communication, social media, cyberbullying, entrepreneurship, online tracking and Office 365. This course is recommended for all 9th-grade students.

In this class, the students use OneNote, which is one component of Office 365. Homework, classwork and long-term projects are all managed in OneNote. OneNote is a great organizational tool which really elevates student learning, allowing opportunities for daily presentation, organization and real-time collaboration. OneNote is also a life-saver for students who struggle with organization – no papers or resources are “left at school” over the weekend! OneNote is available on desktop computers (Mac and PC), as well as tablets and smartphones (Windows, iOS, Android).
